Nose

The shark can sense an injury from miles away. The Luna moth smells its mate from as far as sixty miles away.

I smell the butcher's apron on my way home, inhaling the cold sweet smell of fat and blood, the cut of pine as he mops the floors of remnants.

If blood tastes salty, why does it smell sweet?
And if our nose deceives us, should we not cut it off?
And if the heart offends, should we not cut it out?
